Nothing beets a good pizza sauce, especially when it is homemade and you control everything that goes into it. Keep the sodium low by following our DIY pizza sauce and skip the bloat that often follows a “pizza night” with the family!
– 2 cans no sodium diced tomatoes
– 1 can tomato paste (the one we get does not have added sodium, even though it is not stated no the front)
– 1 white onion chopped
– 2 cloves garlic minced
– 2 tsp basil
– 2 tsp oregano
– 1/2 tsp rosemary
– 1/2 tsp white pepper
In a small pan sauté diced onions and minced garlic in water over medium high heat. Sauté for 5-7 minutes. Start to heat other ingredients during this process.
In a large skillet heat dices tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, rosemary and white pepper in medium heat. Add Garlic and onions once tender. Once garlic and onions are added, simmer and stir for 20 minutes.
