Frozen Banana Ice Cream

This is a super simple and quick treat to have on a hot day or at night for a sweet treat….heck, who am I kidding – its great to have any time of day, even breakfast if you like!  This

Ingredients:

  • Frozen Banana

Add on:

  • pumpkin
  • sunflower
  • hemp
  • Flax
  • Chia
  • etc.
  • walnuts
  • almonds
  • 1-2 brazil nuts
  • pecan
  • Coconut
  • etc.
  • mulberries
  • goji berries
  • raisins
  • etc.
  • Berries
  • Mango
  • Pineapple
  • Cacao powder
  • Cacao nibs
  • Amla
  • Vega
  • Jai (Rich Roll)
  • Nut Milk (we prefer unsweetened almond)
  • Cinnamon
  • Cardamom
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Clove
  • etc.

Directions:

Start by freezing some bananas that are on their way out.  I prefer to cut bananas into 1/8 or 1/4 inch slices and lay flat on a cookie sheet.  Once they are frozen I transfer the slices into a ziplock and grab whenever I want a healthy snack!

Banana Slices:

Place some of the banana slices in a bowl, add almond milk, a sprinkle of stevia or a date chopped for sweetness and sprinkle on your favorite healthy additions.

My favorite is:

  • Cinnamon
  • Frozen mulberries or Goji Berries
  • Raisins
  • Pumpkin seeds (or chopped Pumpkin Go-Raw bar)

 

Whole banana:

When you are ready, let the banana thaw a little and put in a blender and blend until thick and creamy consistency is achieved (or mash with a fork if you do not have a blender).

Simply top with your favorite ingredients or add in a little Vega all-in-one nutrition or plant based protein powder (Vega or Jai Repair) for added flavor.

Also try adding in cacao powder and cacao nibs for a chocolate hit and feet free to experiment with adding in frozen berries!

For a little protein boost you won’t really taste, try adding in a TBSP or two of hemp seeds while you are blending.
