Creamy Sage Lentil & Rice Travel Meal
This dish is a great use of sage outside of Thanksgiving! The creaminess added by the nutritional yeast satisfies those cheese cravings and the grain combination fills the largest appetites. Try this out for your next trip on the road!
- 1 cup Brown Rice (dry)
- 1 cup Red Lentil (dry)
- 1 bag frozen Organic California Medley
- 1 bag frozen Organic Spinach
- 3 1/2 cups Water
- 1/3 cup Nutritional Yeast
- 1 tablespoon Sage (dry)
- 2 teaspoons Basil (dry)
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
Combine rice, red lentils, sage, basil, and water in the rice cooker. Place the frozen veggies and spinach in the steamer basket, cover, and cook.
When grains are finished cooking, remove steamer basket and mix nutritional yeast and salt into rice/lentil mix. Then mix in veggies. This is great with sliced avocado, our “Parmesan Cheese,” and crushed black pepper to taste!
